Dr. Heather Jue
Dr. Heather Jue received her B.S. in neuroscience from The College of William and Mary in 2006, then attended Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine from 2007-2011 before making Virginia her permanent home. She practiced emergency medicine in Northern Virginia for three years before joining VVERC in 2014, and she became Medical Director in 2016. Her professional interests include critical care, feline medicine, toxicology, and soft tissue surgery.
She has spent many years volunteering her time with local organizations that focus on spay/neuter, rescue, and the human-animal bond. Dr. Jue is also a proud volunteer with FARVets, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting animal welfare both domestically and abroad, and she has led trips around the world to provide veterinary care to communities in need.
In her free time, Dr. Jue loves traveling and spending time in nature. She has backpacked over 700 miles of the Appalachian Trail and hopes to complete the entire trail someday. Her greatest joy is spending time with her husband and son, as well as their 3 cats and 2 dogs. She is a competitive, long-distance, open-water swimmer and also swims on a local masters team.
