Dr. Heather Jue received her Bachelor of Science in neuroscience from The College of William and Mary in 2006 and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University in 2011. She practiced emergency medicine in Northern Virginia for three years before joining VVERC in 2014, and she became Medical Director in 2016. Her professional interests include critical care, feline medicine, internal medicine, and soft tissue surgery.
She has spent many years volunteering her time with local organizations that focus on spay/neuter, rescue, and the human-animal bond. Dr. Jue is also an active volunteer with FARVets, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting animal welfare both domestically and abroad, and she leads trips annually with this group to provide veterinary care to impoverished communities.
When she is not working or traveling the globe with her husband, she enjoys open water swimming, hiking, backpacking, watching sports, and spending time with her two dogs (Phoebe and Jelly) and four cats (Iggy, Howie, Trouble, and Roo).
