Dr. Tyler Barnes

Dr. Barnes received her Bachelors of Science degree from Roanoke College in 2014, and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2018 from Cornell University. After graduation, she moved back to Virginia and became a mixed animal practitioner. In late 2019, she decided to switch career paths to pursue a career in small animal emergency and critical care, and has been a part of the VVERC team since then. Her professional interests include ultrasound, mentorship of pre-vet and veterinary students, poultry medicine, and internal medicine. When she is not in the hospital, her interests include exploring the surrounding wineries, traveling, and fitness. She lives with two rescue cats (one of which is a tripod she rescued here) and a dog, who is usually affectionately known in the hospital as Mr. FOMO (Fear of Missing Out).
