Dr. Rachael Everson

Dr. Rachael Everson received her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science in 2010, and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2014, both from the University of California, Davis. She then completed a rotating internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery, with a strong emphasis on emergency and critical care, at the New England Animal Medical Center of Massachusetts. In 2015 she moved to Virginia and joined the VVERC team. In addition to emergency and critical care, her professional interests include internal medicine, ultrasound, feline medicine, and pain management. To complement her goal of enhancing the doctor-patient-client bond, Dr Everson has completed the Fear Free Elite Certification. Most recently, in 2022, Dr Everson completed a rigorous course of study with the Canine Rehabilitation Institute to become a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist. In her free time she enjoys hiking, camping, continuing education, and keeping up with her rescue cats, Gryffin and Wyatt.
